History
The name of the
kennel "von Arminius" (Latin: Hermann) was
registered by my father Hermann Martin with the
Association of German Shepherd Dog clubs in 1972.
My own kennel name "von Arminius 2000" was
registered with the SV in 2000.
I have been a member of the SV and of the local
Viernheim club (OG Viernheim) since 1979. I have
actively taken over the written tasks in
examinations, breed surveys and exhibitions by the
local club. I have been an active member of the
executive committee of the local Viernheim club
since 1990, first as secretary and since 1999 as
breed warden of the local Viernheim club.
My first own dog, Fanto von
Arminius (litter brother of Fedor and Fina) was born
in 1983. Fanto and I have successfully taken part in
German Shepherd tests and championships. Since my
father was a judge at the main breeding show, I was
unable to present Fanto there. Nevertheless, I was
able to present a group of Fanto's offspring there
in 1987.

My first great success was scored with Kelly von
Arminius (1993 Vice-champion JKL and 1994
Vice-champion GHKL). I started breeding with Kelly
and she is now the central breeding dog in my kennel.

My parents' hobby meant that I was always in contact
with dogs, even as a child. The German Shepherd has
remained an important part of our family right up to
the present day. My father's knowledge of the German
Shepherd and my own love of these animals have laid
the foundations for my own breeding efforts.
